Sitting on my back porch, one Summer, half asleep, during the time of the terrible ethnic cleansing occurring in the former Yugoslavia, I was taken up in my spirit, and coming down through some dark clouds, I ended in what looked like a refugee camp with thousands of men, women and children. The wet and cold, and smell, were horrible. I was led to the side of a small hill to a woman trying to cover herself and two small children with a small tarp.
She was weeping and crying out loudly to the Lord. I was told that both her husband and two older sons had been executed in front of her and now she was in this place for refugees. Far above, I could hear a loud noise and was taken up through the clouds to see it. It looked like a huge newsroom, with reporters and news casters and technicians running back and forth preparing the news. It looked like a huge CNN newsroom getting ready to broadcast to the world.
I could see and hear the story that was engulfing everyone. It seemed incredibly meaningful and compelling: “…Send the armies and destroy those that are doing this to innocent women and families. Those that did this must be punished.” and;”…Hear her cries of pain and anguish calling for vengeance to the butchers that are killing the innocent.” The story was going out around the world and engulfing everyone in anger and rage.
I was taken up again, and much higher and above this huge CNN group. There was a huge throng of what I thought were reporters, more excited, but they were loudly praising the Lord for what was happening with this woman who had just lost her husband and two sons. I was immediately next to the woman, again, under the tarp and could hear her cries. She was in pain and anguish over the brutality of those that had killed her family, and was crying out to God for their hearts and souls, that the Lord would forgive them, fill them, and stop the violence.
Back on my porch, I was weeping. The first group was calling kings and armies, and the second was praising the Lord for this one lowly woman, the real news, that had more power and grace than all the kings and armies in the world.
